Friends question

I think of them as part of the main girl's collection too, though I think their collections should be different than what they are. Nellie needs a school dress. She can't "make do" with Samantha's. Elizabeth needs a cotton dress. I feel like because they are a part of the main girl's collection, AG feels like their wardrobes should be "add-ons" instead of being practical for the friend.

Why can't Nellie wear Samantha's school dress? Obviously they can't wear it at the same time, but there are lots of outfits that Sam/Nellie have that are appropriate for school.

Unless you are playing pre-adoption Nellie- in which case NONE of her clothes are appropriate.

From the time of Samantha on many clothes were mass produced or made from the same sewing pattern. Thus there is no reason why Samantha/Nellie , Molly / Emily and Kit / Ruthie could not have the same dress ( outfit) in different colors.
If the friends dolls only have a few outfits will they continue to be popular ?
Nellie's wardrobe is out of character for her. There is nothing that she could wear to school, to the settlement house or tp play in.
AG if you don't want to give Nellie more clothes at least make dress patterns.

I also think of the friends doll as part of the girls collection because every where you see Samantha, you see Nellie. Everywhere you see Felicity you see Elizabeth.
